Quietist skimmer --- in sump
40 breeder with current use of AquaC Remora with MJ1200.
Looking for reduced noise, due to tank being under an open stairwell to bedrooms. Any one get rid of AquaC Remora and notice a difference? |

Have you tried the "paper towel mod"?? I have an urchin on my 40b and it works like a CHARM!

Tunze DOC skimmers are extremely quiet.

Take a papertowel and fold it up. If you cover the injection port LIGHTLY with a paper towel the skimmer becomes MUCH MUCH quieter.
You don't want to mash it in there. Just fold it to the same shape as the section where the port is. Lay it on the top. This is a well known mod for these skimmers. Ben ![]() |
