Lymphocystis?
I thought my new butterfly had ich but Im not so sure now. The spots have grown a little and seem to be clumping together quite a bit. He has tons on his fins and a few on his body. They are all raised "bumps". The ones on his fins look quite "cottony" now too.
I had a puffer with this once but it was WAY more obvious as it was only on one of his fins and looks like cauliflower was stuck to him! My question is, should I just maintain great water parameters and see if it goes away. I have read that it really is not a big deal and it should clear up on its own. Is this true? I know it did with my puffer. I had him in a QT when I first got him and thats where he developed it. I began running ozone in his QT and it went away very quick. Maybe I should try hooking th ozone back up to this tank... Any thoughts or suggestions would be great! If you have ever seen ich kind of look like this too, please let me know as I do not want to leave it and have it turn out to be a bad case of ich. I just always thought ich was a little smaller, not as raised up and did not clump together too much. Thanks! |

lympho's a viral condition usually brought about by stress etc and may live in holding stages of wholesalers quarintining , good water and even a cleaner wrasse or shrimp will take it away other than that you can cut it off if on fins, just makes sure eating and good water para's
