Colored Bottoms on BB Tanks?

What does everyone think of a colored bottom (IE black acrylic, blue or white acrylic) pane in a BB SPS tank? I think a black background with a black acrylic bottom would look pretty sharp.

Im not sure it matters what color it is to begin with....unless you want to go to the effort of scraping it.

Excuse the Hair algae... I went out of town and this is what I came home to...

The black starboard looks about like flyyyguy's white starboard...

Meuser~ Thanks... Its one of the few pics I could find where you could see the starboard... Real estate is somewhat of a commodity in that tank...

I wonder why coraline grows on the starboard faster than on the rock and glass???

we'll be using a white vinyl tint on the underside of the glass to reflect light to the underside of the corals...we also razorblade the bottom glass so it stays nice and clean.

I have tons of space in my tank i went nuts taking rock out for BB now i have no room for coral placement, so im stuck with letting the ones i have grow.

Small tanks are a real challenge .

It grows on my acrylic bottom pretty fast. I think it can adhere quicker to plastics.

on that thought, wonder if you could get a mirrored bottom to really reflect some light back to the underside of your corals...would be awesome to see the growth like that.

Last night I fired up 2 new 250 halides (1st time with halide) over a new tank with clean white starboard (first time with starboard)...holy crap!! I might have to buy the family welding helmets until I get some coraline growth....

mike then my fish would go nuts attacking the bottom ....the clean glass is really reflective, when ever i add new fish they think it's their twin flo.
