Ice storm pics

Fortunately, we still have power. The adjacent block behind us has been out for more than 24 hours. The block across the street has been out for probably 12 hours. I've got limbs draped across my power lines so badly, you could probably use the line as a lesson in geometry.

Anyway, here are some good ones:

We're lucky as we actually have power. Both adjoining blocks do not (for 24+ hours on the next block over).

Some close-ups of the ice.

Not quite as bad down here in Lawton:

Hope those without power get it back on sooner than OG&E are estimating.

Not to be insensitive, but those pictures are coool. (all the trees, cars, etc. look like that where I am as well, but I'm too busy taking pics of my tank and working on art.)

Same goes up here in Tulsa.
Been trying to keep things warm and flowing since 5:30 this mourning.
At work we are burning 40+ gallons of Diesel an Hour.
They say it may be five more days before we back on line.
Hope everyone is staying safe and that all our tanks survive.

I got a generator at Sears on Friday, turned out to be a great purchase. I live at the end of a dead end country road and have three separate power line breaks just on my property. I may well be that last customer brought on line OG&E is telling you about next week or the week after.

So far everything is fine with my tank, you can see it if you look closely through the window by it's new life support system.

I am confident all will be fine in the end though, after all I have a (very cold) cowboy out front protecting the place

Pauly, your cowboy resembles the Junkyard Art by the late Jim Powers. Is this one of his or one of your own?

I finally have power today after 6 days of sleepless nightly fillings and smelling like a gas station attendent.
Theres not much left of my large tree in the back, and now I have a good excuse to get rid of the trampoline.

This is a pic of my neighbors tree in the front.

Those are all depressing pics. I remember the ice storm we had a few years ago. 6 days without power....

We skirted this storm, only had a few momentary glitches... Very lucky for us. The kids had a good time with the ice and snow, here is a little vid of the 6 year old destroying my yard.

Wow. The 6 year old can drive better than some 16 year olds I have seen.
