To cure white cement artificial live rocks

Hello!

The last time I made cement rocks and watched pH took me 2 months (pinpont controler) and the pH was still high (more than 8.2) when I finish using in the aquarium.

This time I was thinking to look more for the fresh water to be clear after 24 hours or something like that.

I know that someone will post good answers! I don´t believe that we need to wait for more than a week changing 100% of fresh water every day.

Am I wrong?

I´m changing 100% of fresh water once a day.

Anyone?

Grandis.

put the rocks in the back of your toilet, then it gets 100% water change everytime you flush

The million dollars questions are:

Does anyone knows a practical way to do the water change for the curing process?

Is there any article or thread anywhere that would help us to define the above question?

What are your experiences regarding that issue?

Thanks,
Grandis.

being in Hawaii you must get plenty of rain. Use the rain water to rinse the rocks off. Or heck why not put them in the ocean somewhere . You will not only have cured rock but live rock as well

It´s illegal put in the ocean and take out.
The problem is not the water change...
I would like to know how long people leave their rocks curing in fresh water.
Thanks for the replies.
Aloha,
Grandis.

wow I didnt know that but I do know Hawaii has alot of laws that protect their waters. I always thought you could put the rock out there as long at was made of something that wasnt ocean born. I have made fake rock in the past and the only way to decide how long to cure it was based on ph levels alone, there is no way to put a time frame on it. Its all based on how much and what type of portland you used, and what aggregate. Have patience . I do know that it takes about 6 months in the back of a tiolet.

put in a rubbermaid bin in the back yard and drop the hose in once a day for 15 minutes.

That´s what I´m doing ryan_paskadi.

My pH monitor broke. I guess I´ll have to buy a new one.

I did make rocks couple of years ago and they were really nice rocks by the way. I took 2 months and the pH didn´t go lower than 8.2 before I used. It probably was around 8.5.

I´ll keep making my water changes around here and wait to buy the pH monitor to finish the curing process.

Any new stuff about white cement rocks? Any nice sites with pics?

Thanks,
Grandis.
