Arrow I need help to id a pest next to my toadstool

I noticed my toadstool not opening the other day and when i look closer i noticed these///what are they and what can i do to get rid of it? thx.. look to the left of the coral and you can clearly see it.

Looks like it's probably a pest anemone to me... likely aiptasia.

Aiptasia, kill it quick as they spread fast. There is a ton of information on this forum and www.wetwebmedia.com about them.

They are stinging your toadstool that's why it's not opening.

Get Joe's Juice or Aiptasia Control from your LFS tomorrow and zap it dead!

Aiptasia...

They make stuff that kills it or you can try a peppermint shrimp, there kinda hit or miss.

Inject it with some lemon juice. Works great and is cheap.

thx for the info...now i have another problem for the third time ive cought my emerald crab grabbing my toadstool and actually tore a small hole in it. do i need to get rid of this thing.

I myslef dont like emerald crabs, they will pick on what they can. I myself would ditch it to the sump.

I am a firmly opposed to any crabs in my tank. I have had them all and got rid of all of them. I only run shrimps and snails now. I had an emerald crab that turned into a 2 inch monster and broke coral and tried to catch fish so out he went.

I also find that when i spot feed corals my hermit crabs like to get on them and take thier food...makes me feel liike putting them to death...lol

yep mine has gone after fish too check him out that bas*** now the mission to catch him.
