Should I plumb my chiller inline so all my return water passes through the chiller before returning to the tank?
Pros and Cons. TIA, djfrankie

It would depend on your flow and chiller size. The chiller may restrict your return flow. Also, having it in-line would make maintenance more difficult.
I would consider putting it in a branch path. This way you can adjust ther flow thru chiller but still maintain total flow high. This would avoid having the return water temperature being lower than what corals are used to(if you have a big unit). You can valve out the chiller andd remove it for cleaning without shutting down all your return flow. |
