Question how to store used calcium reacator media??

i got a good deal on a MTC pro-cal reactor w/ both chambers filled w/ media.. i dont think i will be able to use it soon so i would like to store the media if possible..

do the media have to be dry and "hard"?? or can i just dry the semi smushy stuff and it will be hard again ( if it's smushy.. i have not messed with the media or much with the reactor )

pls post things as if im a retard.. ( im not really.. but that way.. i don't miss a step that i was suppose to know)

TIA

Rinse the media really well with fresh water.
Let it dry and bag it up.

Yes you got to remove all the fines before using it again.
Did you baked it just to dry it up?

For next time just rinse it well with runing tap water in a bucket, drain and do a last rinse and drain with RO/DI and leave it in teh bucket open to the air. Turn it over after a couple of weks and bag it.... or even better, just trow it away and use new media when you are ready
