Anyone running a Red Sea Max "As-Is"?

Anyone having success running a RSM as-is without mods or with only minimal mods (adding a powerhead)?

Thanks.

I am running the RSM almost "as is":

- Added a Koralia #1 on the right.
- Cut the black sponge in half.
- Added two flow diverters on the output of the circulation pumps.
- Replaced carbon with ChemiPure Elite (for GFO)
- Made the "Silence the Skimmer" mod described (with pics) in the "monster" RSM thread.

I have been through ups and downs but all the above mods have proven beneficial.

Still looking for the easy mod that would remove micro-bubbles...

I am running the RSM as is with the addition of a coralia 1. I am looking to get a tunze 9002 b/c my bio load is high, and I am just not happy with the stock skimmer's output.

...ask and ye shall receive! (Okay...lame...but it's all I got!)

This is my tank as of Oct. Still looks more or less the same, although a couple of corals have changed.

I'm running "as is" and I love it. It's been up for almost 1 year. No pics at the moment as I'm battling some wicked invasive caulerpa. I'm keeping pocillopora damicornis, finger leathers, green bubble, shrooms, rics, zoos, star polyps, and an open brain (trachyphyllia).

I did put a chiller on for the summer (next to the stand) & I'm using the JBJ top off w/ a reservoir in the stand. For whatever reason, I don't have a microbubble problem. Yay for me!

What Corals are people finding they have good luck with using the stock RSM lighting?

The only things I changed are white filter material replaced with fluval polishing foam (rinsed out every second day), moved carbon and phosphate remover media to chamber beside skimmer, added Koralia nano pump on right. Having been having success with no micro bubbles by keeping all filter media rinsed at least once a week and keeping the water level at an optimum level. Evaporation is very little - only top off once a week, do weekly 10% wc. Not sure I would recommend this setup for the price though.
