LR question

Stupid question Im sure but I dont know the answer...lol. Id like to move all the LR in my tank around and re-aquascape the whole tank. How long can LR be out of the water before it starts going down hill?

When it starts to get dry it starts to die. If you can keep it at least moist, it will be ok.

You could keep it out for a few hours with no ill effects.

I agree, but I might be concerned about the bristle worms, mysid shrimp, and other animals might die if they are out of water and dry up at all, I would at least keep it moist and at most have it out for 2 or 3 hrs.

If your worried make up a rubbermaid tub of new water and put your rock into it while you decide on how you want it to look. Kills two birds with one stone. 1 your rock stays wet and 2nd you get to clean your rock of debris and inspect it for unwanted critters

When I re-aquascaped last I had my rock out for 30 minutes. I didnt notice any spike in my water parameters.
