Live food production

My friend has a 250 gallon tank with sharks, lion fish and eels. He likes feeding the tank live food. Which live food is best for them and how would we go about raising enough for the tank? Btw he feeds it currently guppies, goldfish and sometimes freshwater glassshrimp.

you friend is going to need to do some upgrading and get the fish off guppys and gold fish soon as possible and live foods are not recomended if you want them to live longer healthier lives get them on prepared foods with vitimans and garlic

Does your friend have access to the ocean? the best live foods are saltwater feeders fish like sheepshead minnows or silversides. Ghost/glass shrimp would be next and lastly, any freshwater fish.
Interestingly one can adpat a few brackish tolerant fish over to marine life (mollies and guppies) anf once feed a marine diet the fish do provide adequate nutrients.

Anyway, tell your "friend" to read the thread at the top of this forum entitled "feeding large predators", and let him soak it up. He'll stop feeding FW fish to his predators.
If your friend is interestedin learning about lionfish and eel husbandry, he can read these articles
