New Rods Onyx Babies

Freakin sweet. Picked these guys up yesterday from Rod. He was very helpful and a really chill guy to do business with.

I suck at taking pics so this was all I could manage. Since they are constantly on the move right now.

They seem to be doing fine. They havent left that side of the tank and seem to be happily swimming at the current. I thought it might be two much for em so I used my mag floats to break it up a little. They swim in the current right behind the mag floats.

They havent gone out to explore the rest of the tank yet. Im guessing they are just getting used to the tank. Its been a day only so far. Good news they chowed down some rods food yesterday after only being the tank a short few hours. I wasn't even feeding them and they were going at it.

I've never really owned fish this small any thing special I need to know? They share the tank with a firefish and a cleaner shrimp.

Doh! Forgot to ask em how old they were.

Here are some more pics with them next to the magfloats will give a better understanding of size rather than my bogus measurements.

Sorry went a little pic crazy, I was reading up on my camera. Figured out some things.

The smaller one is the size of a nickel, the bigger ones the size of a quarter.

Just to be clear, there were even more colorful ones in his tank. My lady carries a whip and doesnt let me exceed limits that she sets.

Efrain as far as age rod got back to me today. These guys are just around 6 months.

You should get an anemone for them so they feel more secure with a hiding place when they feel threaten

I would but I really dont think I have enough room. Its a 24G AP and I have too much to lose in case the nem goes for a walk. I do have a torch maybe they'll take fancy to that?

Clowns have settled in good now, exploring the tank. To my surprise the freakin firefish is being a little fiesty with em. Anyone want a firefish? Hes a good lookin fish. $15 bucks takes em.

Yea im thinking they would take to the torch but thats firefish territory now he sleeps about two inches below it to the right since theres a nice cubby hold in the rocks there.

If you have that pair in a 24g, you're going to have to upgrade anyway (did Rod know your tank size?). Then you can get an anemone for them. In the meantime, try a frogspawn or something like that, for them.

Upgrade for a pair of clowns? I've never read anything that suggests otherwise. I'm interested now....... or maybe its that deep down in my heart i'm want to upgrade. Please convince me.

Everywhere I looked suggests 20 to 30 gallons as adequate for true perc clowns.

95% of people with all in ones have clowns in their tanks with no issues.

Do they stay small than other clowns? I've seen some species at 5-6".

24 gal's is an ocean for a pair of clowns! they by no means need an anem. either, unless you woiuld like one. Hope this helps.
