Question From PC lighting to Metal Halide? Anyone do it?

Anyone upgrade from Power Compact to Metal Halide Lighting?

I am considering upgrading from PC lighting to Metal Halide on my 12 gallon aquapod and and trying to figure out if it is worth it. I've asked the question and many say that if I am sticking to softies and no hard corals that I should stay with the PC.

Seems like people either say the Metal Halide will make everything color up, grow quicker, and be nicer overall. Then on the flip side I hear many saying that stuff usually grows less, or not at all under MH, and that I am better off with PC lighting.

What do you think???

I switched over to MH from PC when I upgraded my tank from a 44 gal. petagon to my current 90 gal.

I had two (65W) PC's over my 44 gal. and my leather and zoas grew good. I switched to two (250W) MH's over my 90 gal. and the leather & zoas grew great. I was also able to keep SPS, LPS & Clams. I love the look of the MH (I use 14K Hamiltons), but I'm not sure if it would be over kill on a 12 gal.
