hex tank

I have a 48 gal hex tank that i am trying to figure out the lighting for, because of the dimensions I am not sure how well one of the fixtures will work. I am looking into the hang on MH light http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...2&pcatid=13922

but i am also worried about the heat, because I wont be able to get a chiller so I am also looking at the T5 http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...2&pcatid=12772

In the future I would like to keep some SPS possibly in the upper areas
of the tank.

Any advice on these lights or what else I could possibly do?

I used a 250w MH with 2 55w PC's on either side. I built a 18" tall canopy with 2 fans in the back blowing over the water. Heat wasn't an issue. I had to mount it diagonally though. There are some ghetto camera phone pictures of it in my gallery. They're labled Picture60 and Picture50 or something.

I've got a 250w pendent over my 35g hex. Bulb is ~3" from water surface. Tank temperature stays at 81.9F, which is right where my heater is set to keep it. Keep in mind, my house is 70F this time of year, and the ceiling fan in my bedroom is on 24/7 (because of me, not the tank). Also, I've got a 10g sump for extra water volume.

HTH!
