Should I..........
I'm making some mods to a 12 gallon aquapod I bought that is fullt cycled and has been running for around 6 months. It has all stock media that I want to make go away.I've already to a hammer to a piece of LR from my 54 and made it into rubble. The 2nd chamber has 2 bags of ceramic rings and and the 3rd has bio balls.I want to take them all out and incorperate a fuge later. The ? is,should I leave the old media in and remove it slowly or go ahead and take it all out now due to the LR coming from an established system?

If the tank is up and running with liverock of a proper amount in the display area, then in theory the back section could be empty- all the ones I have set up for people are. The only way you would have an issue with takingout or switching all the media at once would be if you are overstocked on fish and whatnot in the tank already.

The tank is empty except fot sand and water.I have about 20 poonds of LR I will also be taking out of my 54 to put in it as well. There will be no fish for a while.Just a few pieces of coral connected to the rock.
