heater is not keeping up
so, it got cold last night and my heater did not keep up...i got it with my tank and it is an old one anyway. i have a 37 gallon tank with a 15 gallon sump. i want to buy heater that could go through an upgrade with me too.
recomendations? |

Use 2 heaters. Better anyway, in case one fails.

agree would use 2 smaller heaters or a big one on a controller.

i use 2 big ones incase 1 fails and i don't notice it right away. both are run by a controller

I would not oversize heaters, if one sticks you can boil your tank.
2 smaller ones is the way to go. really i mean 2 right sized heaters in your case 100- 150 watts ea.

I use 3x volume for wattage, and split that between two heaters. Lets say water volume of the setup is 50G. 50x3 = 150W. I'd use (2) 75W heaters.

I agree, 2 smaller ones is the way to go, but I think he's looking for brand recomendations.
