Adding Kalk

I'mthinking about starting to mix kalk into my r/o water and use it for the Auto top up. What i'm wanting to no is if this is the right way to add it, wether i can over dose it like this. And also i'm thinking it will help keep my PH high maintain a high DKH and magnesium level (which i'm having trouble doing), Which inturn will help fight the cyano, am i on the right track..

I use a diy pvc kalk reactor with mrs wages lime. I use a mj900 to stir it on a timer 5 min twice a day. After an hour settling my auto top off turns back on. This has worked well for me.
