What is the largest tank that could fit a 36" space?
I am considering upgrading my 55g tall to a taller tank. Do they make any bigger taller tanks that will fit in a 36-40" space?

I have never seen a big tank that is 36 inches long, and i personally would not get it, i would feel like i would be loosing light by placing it too high from the bottom of the tank.
If your 55g tank is 48 inches, you can get a 120g that is also 48 inches.

My 55 is a tall, so it is 36 inches across. I just saw that there's a 70 gallon available that's 36 inches across, but I don't think that upgrading 15 gallons will really make a difference, will it?

Actually, the biggest I have seen thus far is 85g.

you could make a custom 36"x36"x24" tank that would be about 135gals...plenty of room for a nice sump under there too

That's a great idea, except that I'm completely inept when it comes to making these things. How hard would it be to do, and how much would it cost? Any guess?

Custom fabricated cube, 36" x 36" x 28" would look awesome! Probably need to be 3/4" thick acrylic, but it comes to 140g.

Corner bow of some depth can get some more gallons in.

Glass tanks are fairly easy to make...there are plenty of threads in the DIY forum about it. the cost will depend on your local glass prices.

A local reefer has an in wall 36x36x36 cube. Very well lit by a single 400W MH.

Glasscages has a standard size 95 Wide. 36" x 24" x 24"
I have an Oceanic 70 RR. 36" x 18" x 25" I love 3' tanks. Perfect size for me. |

I'm interested in Glasscages' 90 gallon tall because it's the same dimensions as my 55, only taller. I wonder if my current stand will support it. What do you think? It's the right dimensions and is made out of oak. |
