I need to isolate/insulate pump vibration
Building a new system and Im at the return pump plumbing stage. Ill be using a mag18 in an acrylic sump. Can I simply use something like a mouse pad or a large sponge? Should I worry about leeching? What are people using these days, ideas , Thanks . Peter

I use rubber pond liners myself, just because I usually have some, Silicone potholders sound like a very good idea also.

I used rubber stoppers the my local hardware store had...they were cheap (.50 each) and all I did was put them in a vise and drill a hole through the middle of them....worked great to isolate the pump...

For outside the sump I use a foam pad (1-2") with a piece of ply glued to each side with contact cement.
For inside the sump I would go with a big glob of silicone on each foot of the pump. Wait for the silicone to get partially set for a while, then set the pump down on its feet and let the silicone fully set before transferring to the sump. Stu
