Pictures of my blue face changing

Starting this thread to help track the color changing of my blue face angel.

Got him/her about 7 months ago from the Divers den section of LA.

Acclimating,

Put into the tank -- Lemonpeel angel didn't take too kindly to the new addition.
Can see lemon eying him up.

The after math -- Lemonpeel was moved to the sump and sold.

Little beat up

Picture from 7/23 all healthy now and eating like a pig

8/19 can start to see some yellow forming.

Series of pictures from 9/4 -- camera isn't picking up as much yellow as there is in person

9/23 Doing great, but, I can't keep zoas with him, has quite the taste for them.

Bunch from 10/3

Lots o' yellow on the back side

Can start to see the tail spot.

Little bit faded due to using flasth

Going to try to get some more tonight, or at least this week, a lot more yellow, seems to be changing on a daily basis

New Life spectrum pellets, LifeLine's herbivore mix, mysid shrimp, Prime Reef and whatever he picks off the rocks.

Mainly the pellets and herb. mix. He is quite the pig.

I'm not completely familiar with all of the ingredients in each of those products, but I thought there was not really any sponge content in them. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Serioussnaps --- Thanks and I will update with each new round of pictures, he is changing fast.

mlandrigan --- I don't believe there is, and I have tried some angel formula in the past, he/she didn't care for it all that much. Though there is some sponges on the undersides of my live rock that it can pick at.

Yoboyjdizz --- I would say it is about 3.5" right now. From my understanding both the blue face and majestic angels change at smaller sizes since they tend to stay smaller then the other blue/white striped angels.

Thanks did not know that. Have you tired frozen foods with the sponge formula in it? My emperor angel goes nuts for it.

I haven't had any difficulties with him at all. Granted he didn't eat the first couple days, but that was most likely because of Lemonpeel chasing him so much. Once I got the lemonpeel out of the tank, blue face started eating right away -- he is a little pig. Still gets a little skittish once in a while, but food will always bring him out -- he mainly is skittish when I have the camera out.

So far, besides zoas he hasn't nipped at a thing -- had SPS, a clam, and anemones in that tank.

Very nice and cool! My emperor was like that, he all the sudden started getting yellow in and every day it seemed like, he changed more. Shouldn't be too long now.

Just managed to get a couple more pictures of him today, seems do be out a lot more lately, not sure if that is because I moved my flame angel into this tank ( from another one ). Not having any issue with them getting along, but the both are out a lot.

Don't look at the dates I posted, but the dates I put in each post, this has occurred over months.

Thanx for showing us, Todd. I have a bf that I have had for about 7 months as well. He eats like a pig and has always had the same coloration as your last few photos, doesn't seem to have changed much in 7 months. I'll try to get some pics as he looks just like yours, but he is very camera shy.
