ID Starfish orange with black specs (spots)
I just got him. He is orange with black spots on him. I put him in my tank and one of his leg came off. I noticed this orange slime on the bag it came in.... I wonder if he is going to die??? Is it okay for a leg to come off???

If you just got him it's likely acclimation shock and he's a goner, what's your water parameters at, specifically salinity and how are you testing it, also how did you acclimate him and for how long?

He's a fromia star, and unlikely to make it. They need the finest in water conditions, good mature (<1yr) live rock to feed from, and good conditions of handling prior to your acquisition (which you can't control). If he's lost a leg already, the rest will follow.
