Is $899 too much for a 210g RR oceanic???
I'm strongly considering upgrading instead of re-setting up my 90g. the largest tank my LFS has is an oceanic 210g with 2 overflows for $899- tank only. Is this too much?

My LFS wants about that much for a 125 with one overflow. Doesn't sound bad to me. OR maybe my LFS is just trying to rip somebody off.

That sounds pretty good, one of my local LFS has a 210g RR with stand and canopy for $1079, been debating that one for awhile now

Sounds like a pretty good price provided it isn't a used tank. I have a glass 210, it is far from being a light tank. Plan accordingly for it's placement as the tank by itself is I believe in the neighborhood of 400 pounds. Another roughly 1500 pounds worth of water. A few hundred pounds of rock. Well you get the picture.
 Also the 29" height gets a bit interesting to work around when aquascaping and lighting.The height gives a great illusion of having a huge tank though. I have a friend with an 8ft 240 and my tank actually looks bigger than his. Strange optical illusion.

Not bad, but if you don't mind buying one used, you can save a lot of money. I recently purchased a used 215g Oceanic for $350. The tank was built in September 2005 (there is a sticker inside the rim with this date).
Keep in mind that the tank weighs about 500lbs when empty.

You could always check the want ads here or elsewhere. I picked up a 180 rr with alot of extras for 285. It is like new no scratches. I was into buying new until I started upgrading. Good luck with your purchase.

My humble opinion: big tanks don't need to sit around empty once they've held water. I'd pay for a new tank with a warranty if the price difference wasn't huge. A manufactured aquarium should last for a decade (or much longer), but the worst thing you can do is drain the water and move them. Brand new Oceanic 210 with two overflows for under a grand? That's better than they're priced in my area, Savannah would seem to have a similar market. I'd buy it.
