Is it too late???? HELP ME!!!!!!

I have a fully stocked (reef / Fish) 30 gallon breeder tank....

Tuesday my wife was washing clothes and I had the fan on just chillin playing xbox 360.

Well she asked my son to bring her the oxy clean... and like the good boy he is... he brought her the oxy-clean well he walked right in front of the fan........

As you can imagine this blew the stuff everywhere. All over the living room and yeap white flakes all in my TANK

I fished out as much as possible and did a quick 40% water change......

To date (two days later) nothing has died YET!!!... Most corals are closed and my clams (Both) let go of the rock the foot was grabbing but are open. And all the fish are alive and are still eating.
My condi is all balled up (but he does that from time to time)

Any ideas ??????? Besides a Canopy?? (spilled milk)

Any help.. PLEASE I hope I don't lose this tank. I have NEVER had a tank crash but dont think I could take it!

Keep doing 10% water changes. No canopy: your tank will overheat and die for sure. Run carbon: do that when ever something noxious has happened, and change it out every 3 days. Getting a polyfilter sheeting and running that in your overflow might be a good idea. I'm not sure whatall went in there, but an oxygenated compound isn't the worst thing that could go in your tank. We just have to figure out if there's anything caustic or toxic. Look on the oxyclean label and pose the question [with list of ingredients] in the chemistry forum. You ought to know---I think this is a first for a fan and oxyclean. And I'm glad you're so far ok. .Congrats that it's no worse than it is!

Relocate your fan.

Only thing you can do is keep up the water changes, and run some carbon.

Hopefully given time all will be well, I'll have my fingers x'd for ya

I'd run carbon and do at least one more water change, if not a couple more

Hope everything makes it

Seems a bit extreme. Many people have canopies.

Thanks Oxyclean claims to use all natural organic materials......no bleach or toxions....So they claim. I need a media bag to run carbon so I 'll pick one up today...

Thanks for the info I'll keep you posted

Is it a bad idea to do so many water changes so closed together?

Should I wait? Wont I be draining everything I have built up for the 10 months the tank has been up?

If the stuff floating in the water was really useful, imagine what damage a UV sterilizer would do. The only major risk is shock from the sudden change in chemical balance and temperature.

Edit - before someone corrects me let me add - There may be stuff floating around that is beneficial, but not critical by any means.

I checked the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for Oxyclean and it is a high alkalinity phosphated chlorine.

Check the ph. Phosban and charcoal sounds like it will clear it up.
