Ricordia's no looking so good.. Help?
I JUST PURCHASED BOTH OF THESE RICORDIA YUMA ROCKS ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO, AND FOR SOME REASON THEY NEVER SEEMED TO HAVE ACCLIMATED WELL. I DONT KNOW IF THESE MUSHROOMS NEED MORE LIGHT, LESS LIGHT, OR LESS CURRENT? CURRENT THROUGHOUT MY TANK IS HIGH TO MODERATE AND VERY FEW PLACES WITH LOW CURRENT. IM RUNNING ONE 400W 20K ON A 54 GALLON CORNER. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS????
SORRY, THE PICTURES ARENT THE CLEAREST. TOP ROCK TO THE RIGHT |

I cant keep a yuma alive and healthy no matter what i do... I have floridas going crazy but the yuma all die. People say its my light and flow but i have had them in the shade and low flow and they still melt and die.

Low flow low light, I had two fall off a rock because of the flow which was pretty low still and one still hanging in there after I put it under pcs in a shaded dead spot, they're pretty but not worth the trouble for me, I'll stick to florida rics.

I am setting up a 29 gallon for my yumas. I currently have 2 40 W actinic NO floresents. I will be getting more light as the pocket book allows. Do you think this amount of light is too small. if so I have 2 175 watt MH ballasts. I could get a reflector and a 20K bulb and use this instead. what do you think? Jim |

ive used PCs T5s an MH..i love my MH..if you use the MH i would acclimate them slowly..if thier wild..the 20 k bulb will make them look pretty, but slower groth..the 6500 will make them not as pretty but they grow faster..IMO..id go with the MH..but please let others chime in.. scott |

what do you think of using the 40 W Actinics for color and with a 175 10k for growth? jim |
