Has anyone ever tried this design for their overflow into their sump?
Hey guys....
Just wondering if anyone here has ever tried this overflow design to quiet the water entering the sump. I was about to set mine up like this but I figured I would get opinions here first. Do you think it would work just as well with an elbow resting on the bottom instead of a "T"? I like the idea of saving a bit of skimmer footprint space on the bottom. Thanks for any opinions or info. http://www.stockmanreef.com/reverse_durso.htm Also...what exactly is the purpose of the end cap on the elbow letting the air out versus just having and open pipe? For an AGA 75 with a corner overflow...I was going to use 1 1/2" PVC. Should that size work? Jim |

I did a similar design before going for the Herbie method. It's pretty effective at keeping noise down. The cap acts like a muffler, keeping the splashing and bubbling down.
