Recommend 400 watt DE MH bulb?

Decided to upgrade my lighting from 250 watt 14K Phoenix to 400 watt 20K ??? I would go with Radiums but have not been able to find them in DE only SE. What would you guys recommend instead in a DE? TIA!!

i just checked www.marinedepot.com and they have mogul 20K X 400w for $81.95, and the DE 20K X 400w for $84.99.
"Blue Life SPS" is the brand name. hope that helps, have a great weekend!

I found these
which are 20k. The only other color they come in is 10K. What do you think? Have you heard good or bad about the SPS bulbs?

Here you go. Try these 400w HQI by Icecap.

Why do you want 400wattDE? You know they are a marketing scam. True HQI's that are 400 watts come in SE, not DE. If you like the 'blue' look of the Radiums, then the Aquaconnect 14,000K is for you.

Already have DE Lumenarc pendents and do not want to change them.
I looked for an Aquaconnect 14K DE bulb and could not find them. Do they make them in DE?

No, only SE.

The only companies that make DE 400's still are PFO, Icecap, Hamilton, South Pacific Sunlight/CoralVue, and one other I'm pretty sure... Happy Reefing went under. Those are your options. There are Osram and Radium entries, and they are actually true HQI bulbs as well, but in the 5000K range.

Hey Hahn, if you were in my situation which would you choose? You seem to have alot of knowledge on the subject and I would value your opinion. BTW I have 2 Blueline e-ballast to run them with. Thanks again!

Sorry, but my knowlege of non-HQI bulbs is rather limited actually. Never needed or wanted them, so I never looked into them much.
