hrm, I had 3 peppermint shrimp before my two cleaner shrimp went in, hte cleaners gave them what for once, but all of the 5 shrimp are under an 1 1/2 long... since then they seem to get along, but hte pepermints pass up food for the cleaners, they seem to have a heirarchy...

my 2 pacific cleaners fought when i first got 'em. They were like playing pinch-wars with their claws. But now they're ok w/ each other

I had a cleaner shrimp co-exist just fine with a peppermint in a 10G.

Randomly, so it seems, the cleaner killed the peppermint after 2 months.

I don't know!

right now, my cleaners AND my slightly larger peppermint are sharing a rock, and the cleaners fight more w/ each other than w/ my peppermint

I am thinking about getting a cleaner shrimp as well for my 75 gallon tank. it has a fire shrimp and pepperment shrimp in there is well. They get along fine, well actually they are never really near each other. Should I be worried about adding a cleaner shrimp? I'm sorry i'm not trying to hijack the thread.

I don´t think you have to worry about that, especially when the cleaner is the newest additon to the shrimp group.

When adding a new shrimp make sure the new addition is not too small. I had 2 skunk cleaners, and tried to add 2 smaller peppermint shrimp. Well, the peps didnt last an hour. The cleaners killed and ate them.

I just watched my pair of Harlequin shrimp chase away an Anemone shrimp. Its interesting to watch them wave their claws around. I never would have though of Harlequin shrimp as being aggressive.
