Blue life Phosphate control

Has anyone used Blue life Phosphate control? I added it to my system a couple months ago and the next morning my sand sifting gobie was breathing heavy and then died. My clown fish were also breathing heavy and survived. All my parameters were good.

A few nights ago I was checking my parameters. Again all my parameters were good but my phosphates were up again. I added some Blue life Phosphate control again the next day my yellow and blue tangs were breathing heavy and then died. My other fish seemed to be ok. Has any one else have this problem. I went out and bought a phosphate reactor by two little fishies. Is this reactor any good?

My parameters are
Temp 80
Sal 1.026
Ph 8.3
KH 8
Ammonia 0
Nitrits 0
Calsium 380
Phosphates .1

A number of people have used it, and report fish deaths, etc. It's a lanthanum-based product. I think that PhosBan is a much better choice, and I use that reactor myself. It's okay.

Good reactor, use phosban or rowaphos. Is blue life an additive or an adsorbant media?

It is an additive. Thank you, I thought I was doing something wrong. I can't wait to setup my reactor.

Additives are intended to cause PO4 to precipitate out or chemically bind them. Never use them I don't think they are safe. Always use an iron based adorption media.
