It depends... Most stars are "reef safe" because they will not purposly eat corals... However all stars that I have ever owned other than the sand sifters and brittles tend to have the grace of a drunken sailor if you know what i mean... Def to safe to keep near frags.. Dunno if that helped you at all but its the only way i could think of phrasing it.

No. It's Luidia aka a sand sifting star and will ruin a DSB and then starve.

Most of the star fish that I have had have died within a period of six months to a year. They all seem to eventually starve to death. I leave them all alone now.
