How's your tank in this hot weather?

My sump is in the garage and I've been using 3 fans to keep my tank cool. I came home last night and wondered why my Angels and tangs were breathing so fast. A quick check of the temp showed it was 87-88 degrees Fans don't work to well when the weather humidity is high. I finally had to break out my chiller from storage. I don't want to see what my next electric bill is. My home A/C is on at night as well.

Keep cool!

In a word....HOT! The bryopsis has started to reappear. I'm thinking about taking Gabe's cue and just running the ACTs for a couple of days...

my 1/3 chiller keeps my 135 nice and cool at 80F but my 25g cube is at 85F i am keeping a fan on it 24/7 and adding water for the evap i am still running the HQI on it so thats why i run the fan. Also my A/c is on about 18 hours a day. i think i need a chiller for my 25g i am tired of throwing frozen water bottles in there to keep the temp down.

gotta love the chiller. it keeps the temp at a consistent 79-81 in a garage that gets to 90 at times.

I left my MH off yesterday because I was not home to monitor it, and probably will run it tonight when it cools off. Luckily on the west side it's only gotten to about 90, so my sump fans are keeping temps in check. No signs of trouble yet.

My Tank has been running with no chiller, only fan and its hovering about 77.5 to 79. I did throw 6 - 12 froozen Kirkland h2o bottles at a time, twice daily to help with the cooling. I have 1/3 chiller if any one wants to buy

Yesturday, my tank was up to 84 when I got home from Toms frag blowout, the RC2 had already shut off the lights, couple frags not happy, my 1/4 can't keep up when the house is 100+ deg. I wish my 1/2 was hooked up, tanks at 81 right now, multiple fans, next year I'm gonna have central air even if I have to sell some toys.

my 1/10ths are keeping my 24 gallon and 12 gallon at an average of 81. Lights are on 8 hours from 5 pm to 1 am avoiding DWP peak hours. everything is fine and dandy.

A/C ftw! 79-82 deg, MH is set up to shut off once temp hits 84. My house sometimes goes to 88 with the A/C off, but it doesn't affect the tank that much.

Temperature is not my problem right now... it's the frequent power interruptions that's KILLING MY PUMPS!!! This has been going on since wednesday, and they are like 5 minutes apart.

I have already turned off the TV, turned off all the lights, NO A/C, nothing but the tank. TV says "flex your power" and I'm just doing my part to prevent rolling blackouts... but we are still experiencing rolling blackouts...maybe other people are not listening.... I don't get it..

Mike,
Ithink it peaked at 113 F today in Moreno Valley. Tank peaked at 82 with no chiller. I only have T5's and they start to come on at 2 pm until 11 for the atinics and 4-9 for the daylights. Im sure my central air is goin to kill my elec bill, but what can one do ?

Brock
