Purple Up

Any one use Purple Up with any success? My coralline exploded over the last month or so, growing all over the tank. Now some of the new spots on the glass go back and forth from white to purple. I am thinking of adding some of this stuff but wanted to see if anyone out there has had any luck with it or have any other suggestions on reef supplements.

Thanks
Josh

I used it but only in a rock storage tank with only one fish and misc hermits, snails and a few small mushrooms, sponges etc.

No problems seen (but no corals to worry about, either) I can't say that it made any great difference...I already had pretty good coralline growth and I think it helped some.

I use it and can definately say it has helped my coraline growth. I don't dose it very often but when i do I do see a noticable increase in coraline growth.

Agramilk on the other hand crashes my coraline growth.

As long as everything is balanced in the aquarium, it can help, but if anything is out of line water chemistry wise, it can make things worse.

Testing for PH, Alkalinity, Calcium, and Iodide, and then supplementing for which ever one is low is usually a safer way to go about things as it will prevent anything from getting out of balance, and still give you the increased Coraline growth.

Thanks all for the replies. I need to get a reef test kit still so I can start testing Alkalinity, Calcium, Phosphates, and Iodide so if any one is getting out of the biz and needs to get rid of one let me know.

Like they say:

With it you see growth in a month;
Without it takes about 30 days.

I knew I should've used Purple Up last February!!!! It would've taken only 28 days instead of 30
