weight loss

I thought that I would start my own thread here instead of posting on Travis'. For those that followed that thread, I have new news. I started the slim-fast diet (haha i know) and am doing extremely well. I eat the meal and snack bars, and of course drink the shakes. I log everything on their website which helps me out a ton. I have been following a very strict diet and am getting used to one real meal a day with only one serving of each food. That was difficult as I normally pig out like crazy at dinnertime. I started this diet because I had trouble eating several times a day without vomiting. I thought it fit my lifestyle well. I also bought a pedometer and take walks every evening with the kido and the dog for about two hours. I am still also weight training 5 days per week.

So here is the good news... I lost 4 pounds this past week!

I found your 4 pounds and I think a few extra strays! My husband really needs to find a new hobby! He's killing my weight loss!

Congratulations by the way!

I know how that feels My daughter always wants to go with me when I walk, but she wants daddy to go as well (who wants nothing to do with it) so he moans and complains the entire time. I normally come home when he gets on my nerves long enough. I normally walked at the park 8 miles a day (4 laps) but he whined so much I gave up and stayed at home. I never knew I could gain so much in just one month,LOL.

Good job!

My friend is on that nutrisystem. She's obese, and has lost 40 pounds since she started it.

My BMI was still considered normal, although on the high side. I am five feet seven inches and started out at 159 pounds. Congrats for your friend dc!

She is quite happy about it, can't tell, but her health has improved drastically.

I could lose about 20-30lbs, but I have no willpower.

She must be happy for herself

I can tell some in my waist and I have more definition in my arms. I already have very muscular legs, just need to burn some fat on my upper thighs. Nothing seems to budge that! I have a belly and that is about it. I always look like I am a couple of months pregnant, and after two people asked me how far along I was, it was weight loss or bust!

I am not good on willpower at all either, but I have stuck with it religiously for one week so I know that I can keep going.

Yeah thats another problem. I have to walk at around 10 pm because it has been near 110 degrees here then as soon as it cools off, it is too cold (asthma).

Normally when people try out weight loss diets that require you to eat less of certain foods, cut down on your foods, or eat just the same meals when their done with their diet their body starts hording energy (In the form of fat) afraid that this is a quick break from more starvation of certain sugars, fats, minerals etc. and this results in rapid weight gain. Remember, all that food you are eating is energy, and not necessarily bad. Just make sure you don't consume too much more energy than you use. If I needed to lose weight I wouldn't change my diet, just increase excercise. Good luck with whatever you decide to do I'd pull for ya, but you know you gotta do your own work to lose weight

My problem was only eating once per day, normally a bowl of cereal, and never any water at all. I wet some days without ever eating at all. My body was in starvation mode and I know that is why it was storing fat. I am trying to better my diet, increase my activity, and in turn boost my metabolism.

LOL, that's me, I need one of those.

I'm pretty active, but my eating habits leave something to be desired. Not necessarily junk food, but I'm a horrible piecer.

Sounds like you have a great plan, and it's working for you, that's what counts.

Thanks everyone. Uh Oh good luck! DC I have no idea how old that poor magnet is, it was my great grandmothers

It seems to be working so I am going to stick to it for however long it takes. By the time I get to my desired weight, I should be able to actually eat three meals a day like I am supposed to

Hmmm. I think we need to consult someone from that era to get more information on this subject.

Anyone seen Nina around lately?

Ha ha Nina isn't THAT old

Jokergirl, I know the feeling. I have been so sore I can hardly sit. Who knew my tush would be SO sore. My legs are fine, and my arms hurt just a tad. I ran cross country in school and played volleyball and was on the weight lifting team. Too bad I can't go back so I could get in shape, LOL.

Oh I know what you mean. I would've attempted to keep in shape because Rugby had me buff as can be, but I had a knee injury that forced me out. Now that it's completely healed, and my muscle mass is flab, I'm having a hard time getting back into shape.
