Queen conch question
Say that five times fast. Anyway did a search only found one relative thread so here goes the question. I got a queen conch 3 days ago with various other clean-up crew. Everything seems to be doing well other than the conch. It appears to move about 3-4 inches in a 24 hour period. The few times I have seen it move it has been like a flip with its foot. I see eyes and mouth out and moving from time to time. Is this normal?
29g., 45lb. LR, 4"DSB, temp 80, sal. 1.025,PH8.4, cal. 435,amm. 0, nitrit. 0 Yeah I know, read it in numerous of the search threads...my tank is way too small. I am learning to research here first. Will have to find a home for it when it gets larger. (If)

Hi,
The movement pattern is normal. If it feeds you should see it extend a long green proboscis, and bite with the mouth at the tip. The tank is, as you noted, way too small! It may not have enough food availabilty to grow larger. They need a lot of diatoms and other foods to sustain them. Good luck! |
