Reduce output from Eheim 1260

If i want to reduce the output a little, should i put a restriction on the inlet or outlet?

Never restrict the intake of a pump.
It does not matter where you restrict the outlet. It can be done with a ball or gate valve, smaller diameter tubing or pipe, additional fittings like tees and elbows, vertical rises in the discharge piping or any number of ways but valves are easiest in most cases.
