Mostly OT

Hey just wanted to share a few photos... most are OT.

A lot of these images look much better full sized but I couldn't figure out how to post full sized images from Webshots... the best I could get were 600 pixel images. If anyone knows how to post full sized images from webshots community please let me know!

Here is an acro, it came out ok I guess, details aren't too bad but its kinda over exposed and the colors are a little off... it looks much more uniformly green/blue IRL.

For instance the colors are more accurate here but it's not nearly as focused...

I visited the Watkins Glen Gorge in NY this past week... it's a 1.5 mile walk up into the gorge (over 800 stairs) and it's quite beautiful. Unfortunately most of my photos didn't turn out all that well but a few were ok...

While fishing I found a duck hooked to a fishing line that was caught in a branch over the water... Poor guy was thrashing around hopelessly. He almost bit my finger off when I waded out to cut him loose.

As you can see the line/hook is still in his mouth but he could open it and still eat... I'm sure the hook will rust out in time, he wouldn't hold still and allow me to remove it.

Don't know about Webshots, but you can use Photobucket. I would like to see some of those OT pics at larger sizes.

Yeah I do have a photobucket account, the only reason I don't use photobucket is because the firewall @ my work blocks photobucket however it does not block Webshots (go figure)...
If you click on any of the images I posted you should be able to get to the fullsize version. Let me know if that works...

And as far as the "giant toliet bowl" lol... I'm not sure I'd describe it that way as that sounds kinda nasty and in reality its quite pretty...

there are numerous "toliet" bowls in the gorge, it's amazing how the water has carved out such perfect mini whirlpools of sorts. The rock is so smooth and the water is crystal clear. I hiked up it with my girlfriend and we wished we could have gone swimming in one of the pools. Not only would it have been romantic but also very relaxing... unfortunately some years ago several people died swimming in the gorge and since it has been prohibited. =(
