Its a large polyp stony, but of what type I havent the slightest. Can you get a closer picture so we have a little sharper view of its details?

Looks like symphyllia maybe. I agree, a better, closer pic would be nice.

How big is it, and do you know if it came in on a piece of live rock, or if it was a free-standing colony? Do you know what country (or at least ocean) it came from originally? Regardless of what it is, it does appear to be bleached, so I would be sure to keep it well fed until it recovers.

Is about 2" diameter. it can as a free standing colony. Its form the caribbean, im in Dominican Republic. and since i dont know what it is i dont know how its suppose to look like when healthy. I have it under a 70w mh, and i feed it with homemade food that i also feed my fishes (oyster+fish+spirulina+vitamins+lemon juice mixture) every 2 or 3 days pluz what it gets when i feed my tank.

i was lookin in some books and im not sure if it could be Meandrina meandrites? so i posted here to comfirm what it is.

thanks.

With its size and shape, and where you say it came from, it may very well be a caribbean rose coral (Manicina areolata). I had one recently, but it didn't make it. Looked like a mini trachyphyllia, like that one does to me. Mine was only about 3" across.

I kinda thought it was Manicina, which is why I asked about the location. Im 90% sure its a bleached Manicina areolata. Keep feeding it, and dont put it under real intense light, and it should do just fine for you. Theyre pretty sturdy.

I gave it too much light initially, and once it started to recede, it went downhill FAST. Mine was pretty round, BTW. I still have the skeleton. I'll take a pic and try to post it tonight sometime.
