Talking Lumenarcs, finally...

Like the title says, I finally managed to to install Lumenarc reflectors over my 75g sps tank. Thank God for good friends that are willing to help out old people like me...
All I can say is that I saw pretty good improvement in the coloration of most corals I have in the month that I did the upgrade.
Here's some pics.

Yes they are huge. I have 5 on a 10 ft tank. But would have needed more lighting without them.

I mixed minis and a full LAIII, I didn't have enough room in my canopy for three of the big ones on my 135, but I shoved in two minis and a fullsize in the middle. We'll see how it works, I've taken apart my canopy more times than I can count trying to figure out how to cram them in there plus the dang VHO's. Just a question, I asked this in equipment and got answers from a few people who never ran the luminarcs, but do are you guys running them with glass or without?

I run witout glass also. Does anyone run glass and have the venting kit hooked up? I just thought that would have been a PITA to hook all that up.

I just installed the new Luminarc DE mini pendant over the middle section of my 180. It fits perfectly and as you'd expect, has much better coverage than the PFO mini I replaced. I'll try to take a pic tonight and post it. With the hood I have, it does hang awfully close to the water, but we'll see if it works out.

Hi Tony,

I switched from reeflux 10K to megachrome's 14.5K about a month or so ago and absolutely love this bulbs. I wish I had 24" front to back tank so I could use some more VHO's or T-5's blues. Maybe in my next life...

PS. Here;s a picture to show how high I have mine. I would say bulbs are roughly 12-14 inches from the water surface and still I get my crazed rabbitfish splash the reflectors, any closer and I would have my bulbs exploding...

I've used 250w bulbs on this tank always, tried pretty much all of the brands but Sakis, too

Those pics look great zenya!

I'm using the 10K reeflux now and looking to change bulbs. What do you like about the megachromes that you didn't get from the reeflux?

I think there is a problem with these corals and the only for them to be saved is for you to ship them to me security in my tank.....LOL....JK

Vey nice looking corals and colors. The colors just pop!!! Some of the best I have seen.

Hey Tony,

Unfortunately priorities change and at times you need to make a choice between a larger tank and peace in the house...
Plus, we do alot more traveling this days so keeping larger tank is troublesome (for my wife )
