9 Gallon fish list...please critique
I'm setting up a skimmerless 9 gallon (12x12x15) and need some advice about stocking. I'd like to have a mix of zoos, mushrooms, & softies. I've got about ten pounds of very porous rock curing now. I'd also like the following but I'm concerned about the bioload:
Yasha shrimp goby and pistol shrimp pair Green clown goby Neon goby Is this too many fish? If I have to I'll forego the clown and neon gobies and just keep the yasha and pistol. Any suggestions would be appreciated |

well the neon and clown goby are small fish so you could get away with all the fish if you spread out there introduction into the tank . keep up with regular water changes and limit food waste by target feeding(little food at diferent intervals). HTH

Thanks for the advice Dirty. I figure I'll be about maxed out with fish, but the yasha and clown goby aren't very active fish from what I understand. Should be able to make it work with frequent changes.

Interesting... that's almost exactly the same stock I have in my 10G macroalgae tank. 1 baby ocellaris clownfish, 1 barnacle blenny, 1 neon goby, 1 randall's goby and a candy striped pistol shrimp (paired). I use the macroalgae to help with the extra nitrates. Its no big deal. Everybody gets along great and eats like little piggies. Oh, make sure you've got those water changes in line if you go skimmer-less.
I feed flake and two kinds of pellets and I feed it all at once. With the macros it harbors 'pods. For clean up crew I use a few blue legs, a few red legs, and 4 of those big tonga nassarius snails. From the macros I picked up some of those mini brittle stars and they do a number on any left over food. I complement the CUC with a few astrea, cerith and trochus snails. Works great.
