Siporax?

What is siporax exactly? I tried researching it a little bit but everything I found was in German. It sounds similar to the ceramic "beads" that come in the mesh bags. What is everyone's opinion on siporax? Where can you get it at? Is it something worth adding to a system?
Thanks a lot!

It is apparently much more porous than the competing media. It's pricy. If I could find a good deal I'd probably snap it up.

Good luck.
