Dual Channel Dosing pumps

I have come across some dual channel dosing pumps that are perfect for dosing Randy's two part. These are not refurbished medical feeding pumps that Innovative Aquatics sell for a lot of money. They are brand new Cole Parmer pumps that are known to be the best peristaltic pumps in the market. Dual channel means you can dose both Calc and ALK from the same pump. If anybody is interested. the price is 75.00 shipped to Richmond. These use to sell for 500.00 before they were dicontinued. They can dose from .05 ml to 5.8ml/minute depending on what tubing size is used. If we can put together an order for several units the price may go down. PM or email me if interested.

Wow that sounds like a sweet deal.

I picked up an Aqua Medic SP 300 dosing pump from MarineDepot back in December to use with my auto top off system. Since I top off with limewater I wanted something that would add it slowly and peristalic pumps are the way to do that.

That dual channel Cole Parmer pump is at an even better price that the single channel Aqua Medic SP 300.

On a somewhat related sidenote, governement institutions (like universities) sell surplus equipment (like pumps) every once in a while. For example, here is the link to UVA's suprlus website:

I have a question how far will a pump like these push water through 1/4 tubing I just hooked up a kalk reactor today and it is in my laundry room(about 40ft of line to sump)I'm using a maxi 600 with valves to slow delivery(running at about med-fast drip now).

I don't think it will be a problem pushing 40 ft. My concern is how much water your kalk reactor needs .With the biggest tubing available this pump can only do 5.8 ml/m. or roughly 348 ml/hr per channel. I have a bigger peristaltic pump hooked up to my KalK stirrer that is actuated by a float switch Works like a champ in my system which is a little bigger than most. If you are trying to match your evaporation rate with a continuous kalk drip it will work.

Thanks vince I need about two gallons a day. I'm not sure that what I have won,t do the job but I was curious how far a peristalic pump could push.

Peristaltic pumps are made to push liquids like paint or ink so they are pressure rated. I was using a maxijet to feed my Kalk reactor for a while but after it failed to restart as they often do I went with a peristaltic. These pumps are better suited for dosing Bionic or Randy's 2 part. Despite having a calcium and a kalk reactor I still dose Randy's 2 part at a rate of !500 ml/day. I run the pump an a timer for 4 hours and it works great.

Four RRC members have expressed interest in these pumps. I will be placing the order tomorrow and try to get the best price. The pumps come with 2 2.79 mm two-stop tubing which should last a long time.

Peristaltic dosing pumps are the way to go. I have a 225g tank that evaporates 3+ gallons/day. I bought a dual Aqua Medic to 1) push water through my kalk reactor (1.5 gpd) and 2) topoff with fresh water (1.5+ gpd). Both feed lines draw from my 55g RODI barrel. With the dual pump I can meet my topoff needs without having to use all kalk water. I was concerned that this would be too much kalk on a daily basis.

that's great to know. I have precisely the same need, and one of these pumps will solve my problem. Thanks!

I just got a sample in. Very compact and easy to use. Also very very quiet. The person I am dealing with has only 2 left after the four I ordered. I think I'll just go ahead and buy them. Some reefers might want them sooner or later.

Vince and picture of the pump? Is the 5.8ml/m with both channels or each channel?

It is 5,8ml/m per channel. I tried tubing with 1/8" ID and got 10ml/m. PM me your email and I'll send you a picture. Vince

Hey, I'd be interested in a pump or two if you have any left and would be willing to ship. Let me know.
