Paintballers Advice Needed!

Alright paintballers, this question has been asked before, and I am going to ask it again. What kind of gun should I get?

Right now I have Spyder Shutter. I like this gun, but I think it might be time to upgrade a little bit. It is probably 4 years old and it isn't the best gun out there, but has kept me satisfied for some time.

What I am looking for:

- $200-$300
- A gun that will allow me to have fun and not have to tamper with it every time I play.
- Nothing too serious.

I only play about 5 times a year around my neighborhood. I am not into speedball, just woodsball and messing around. I am not expert on paintball guns, I am just looking for something to keep me satisfied for the new couple years.

From what I heard (maybe I am making this up), guns are mostly now running on compressed air instead of CO2 nowadays, or atleast the new ones. I am not sure how much these tanks cost or how much it is to refill, but all in all, I would like to keep all my expenses under $300.

So if you have a gun that you think would work for me, let me hear it. Give me the likes and dislikes.

In the meantime, I will be doing some research. Thanks.

After looking around last night, I figured I would be pointed in the Tippmann direction. These guns seem to be nearly indestructable and you can cuztomize the crap out of them. I am looking at the A-5. Seems like I could find one for 200$ and use the remaining 100$ for a an upgraded barrel and either a response trigger or e-trigger. What do you think? I also was looking at the X-7. Man, that gun looks sooo sweet.

Intially I thought about an Ion, but from what I am reading, they seem to do better in speedball and may require some tweaking here or there (which I am not good at).

Keep it comming guys!

I've used the same MicroMag for almost 8 years now. We do more of the woods type paintballing also. For me it's more of a personal preferance, since I have a weak wrist, this gun is small and lightweight. I've yet to find one quite as compact, so I've never upgraded.
Since you're in columbus, you might contact these guys.

They are out of Morraine, near Dayton. When we lived in Columbus that was where we got all of our gear and stuff from. They were very helpful and knowledgable.

well, i'm mainly a speedballer, and i'm shooting a DP Fusion, (REALLY NICE gun IMO) but it's also a speedball gun, for woodsball any tippy will work well cus of how easily you can customize them
