Any problems with using CPVC in the tank?

Did anyone experience problems with using CPVC (off-white water tubing from hardware store) inside the tank?
I'm fully aware about potential pitfalls, but would like to know about first-hand experience.

The PVC suppliers in our city are located too far and highly inconveniently, and the hardware store is just around the corner...

What are some potential pitfalls?

It's not dangerous... it's used for potable water (HOT water specifically). It has a higher temperature rating and a higher resistance to acids, and is more expensive. IMO it's unnecessary unless there is a more specific reason you want to use it.

Oh, just read your last sentence. I may be incorrect, but I don't think PVC and CPVC have the same diameters.

The main pitfall I can think of is the different outside diameter (OD). Most bulkheads are for PVC (ips-iron pipe size) and CPVC is copper tubing size (cts). That would make it difficult to make any external connections with CPVC.

Wow that is interesting that your hardware store does not stock PVC as well as CPVC.

Thank you!
I had seen the posts about possible additions to the plastic's formulations to prevent fungal growth (or something like this), but it sounded like assumption.

I'm not sure but I think it contains chlorine in the plastic which may leech out. [Thus the name CPCV ]
Check it out first.
The diameters are all different from PVC as was stated and will not fit your aquarium fittings.

WHEN YOU SAY THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO TRUTH TO THAT ARE TALKING ABOUT NOT CONTAINING CHLORINE OR CHLORINE LEECHING OUT.

I SUGGEST GOING OUT TO GOOGLE AND PUNCH IN CPVC AND CHECK OUT THE ENCYCLOEDIAS DESCRIPTION OF CPVC

IT IS CHEMICALLY CHLORINATED, IT ONLY CONTAINS CHLORINE IN THE SAME WAY THAT SUGAR CONTAINS HYDROGEN. SUGAR DOES NOT LEAK HYDROGEN.
