My new Frag/Holding/um..play tank.. PICS

Hey all,

I was able to pick up this tank so as to be used as a prop/holding tank so I could grow out frags for trade/sale or preparation for main tank. I had to throw some live rock in, so for now I am kinda having fun with it.

Dimensions are 4'x2'x1'

Here are some pics.

I am getting little bleaching due to the height of tank. I have reduced the photoperiod and will build it back up over time.

Any thoughts are appreciated!!

So far so good. I have two of the 4 models in there. The one on the front right of the tank has been modded by adding the impeller/prop set up from a MJ1200 Mod. I would say it has doubled the flow from the stock Hydor.

what are you using for lighting?

is this tied into your main tank?
if not, I think the bleaching might be from lack of nutrients and not too much light.

Lighting is 2-250w 10k's in lumenac reflectors plus the actinics. Coral has only been in for 72 hours, so I dont believe it to be a nutrient issue. I would say that the ttank I transfered them from might have been nutrient starved however. With this current set up I am able to feed heaver with much more confidence.

Keep in mind the tank is only 12" deep

I think once the corals get used to the intensity, it will be great!!

How big is that koralia joint? Are the 4's larger than the others?
