Hammer
I have one maxi jet 900 and a pengiun1140 for a 29 gal.. is this enough flow.. How would u know if a hammer is getting much flow on it?

For softies and lps 18-20X turnover (in your case a total of 500-580 gallons per hour) should be targeted. Total the gph produced by powerheads and return pump (or HOB skimmer output) to determine your total tank flow.

Also be careful with corals like the hammer so they dont get direct flow or they may not open all the way or they can be swayed into stinging other corals depending on which way the flow pushes them.

You want it swaying in the current not blasted in any one direction. If its getting blasted change direction of powerhead or move coral.

A happy coral will ext i have one and it likes to receive indirect current |

IF the hammer is fully extended and the fleshy part seems to be relaxed and floating from side to side slowly, then I'd say you have enough flow.
