queen ts 2000 protein skimmer

HI all,

just wondering if anyone has had any expereience with this skimmer. It seems to work but does not collect much at all. I have a 200 litre tank with corals and fish and it will only fill the cup maybe half a centimetre a day. I have been told i should be aiming for half a cup a day? Is this right. Also does anyone know any simple modifications for this skimmer to perhaps improve it. Its driven by a rio1700 pump. Thanks all

Anyone? someone here must of had one of these at some stage. I think they are also named jebo or they make one nearly identical to the queen.

Unfortunately, that skimmer is not very popular here. That can explain the lack of interest to your thread.

Does the skimmer have a needle wheel impeller? If so, try adding some mesh or scrub pad to it. That will increase performance by at least 30-50%.

There is not set volume of skimmate you should be getting. What are your nitrate and phosphate levels? If they are fine, the skimmer is working fine.

Unfortunately, I don't think that skimmer will handle a 200L tank over the long haul. There are many better options out there at a reasonable price (although higher than this one).
