Octopus BH-300f vs Bermuda Rogue
I'm looking for advice on a new HOB skimmer for my 90g to replace my CSS220, and I'm interested in these two skimmers:
Octopus BHF300F http://www.marinesolutionsinc.com/ca...duct_info.html Bermuda Aquatics Rogue Wave http://www.fragfarmer.com/Bermuda-Aq...ave-p-889.html I know the 300BH300F is new, but has there been any testing that could compare to the Rogue? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. |

Well I have a rogue and its by far the best hot i've ever had and will pull alot of nog. IMO the best are the rogue, mce600 and turbofloater blue 3000 but no one has tested it yet. And its 520bux....pry the reason why. I have a octo300f on its way to me so i'll test it out and see what its all about. I'll have it up against my rogue on my 75g test tank. Should be here in a few days. But honestly i don't think it'll work for anything above a 75g as the pump's only pull a scfh of air. I think modded they will do around 5scfh but that will also draw up the gph h20 and teh skimmer most likely won't be able to handle that kind of flow. Time el tell

If I had to choose for a 90g its definetly going to be the rogue, hands down.

Wouldn't a Rogue driven by a Mag 5 put tons of micros bubbles back to the tank?
On the other hand, if a un-modded Resun 225F can only draw 1 scfh of air, that's pretty bad. If i were you i would wait for the ATB HOB... |

Why? The rogue releases nearly zero micro's and does around 900lph with the mag5.

Well, i'm just having a hard time convincing myself that a cone is that different than any other skimmer out there. Sure there's less backpressure but come on, its not worth what the price is.
