mmm.. I love brunch... Mimosas and its on. The one at Sevilla here in LB is really good too, and they have good Sangria. http://www.cafesevilla.com/LongBeach/
Also in Marina Del Rey, Shanghai Red's had a nice brunch, right on the water. I'll have to check that reef place out sometime. |

The Smoke House in Burbank by the movie studios is old school.
I like it because it is old school. Been there since 1946 http://www.smokehouse1946.com/SundayBrunch.html We sit in the bar and watch games. They seem to have a preternatural sense of when your mimosa is done. I can never reach the bottom of the glass, the waiters are always there to fill them up. Even if you don't drink, at $25 it is worth it. BREAKFAST ITEMS Great Omelets, Belgian Waffles, and Crepes Prepared to Order. Eggs Benedict, Scrambled Eggs, Sausages, and Bacon. SALADS AND SEAFFOD ITEMS Delicious Crab Legs, Smoked Salmon, Marinated Mussels, Poached Alaskan Salmon, You Peel 'm Shrimp Cocktail, Oysters (Seasonal). A Variety of Freshly Prepared Salads and Seasonal Fruit. CARVING STATION AND HOT FOODS Country Fresh Ham, Roast Turkey, and Roast Beef. An Array of Beef, Chicken, and Fresh Dishes. Mexican Dishes, and Pastas Prepared to Order. ASSORTMENT OF DESSERTS Cakes, Flan, Petit Fours, and Cookies and Crossants. CHAMPAGNE, ORANGE JUICE, AND COFFEE.

I went to the reef for work chrismas party. The view was amazing but the food was ok. The appetizer was nice but my filet mignon was a little too cook for me. But the sunday brunch with sushi, sound very good. Might have to go back there again.

If you're into Hawaiian food, head over to The Loft in Torrance off Hawthorne Blvd on Sunday morning. It's not as foo-fooey as the other places but they have the best Hawaiian brunch buffet. Practically everything on their menu including portuguese sausage, eggs, rice, pancakes, omelets made to order, saimin, kalbi ribs, loco moco, kalua pork, fruits, dessert, etc.

I used to love the Sunday Brunch at Four Seasons in Santa Barbara. They had a miniature row boat that was filled with large shrimps and crab claws that were already partially shelled. We're talking morsels of crab meat the size of your thumb!!! Unfortunately, the selection and quality of the food hasn't been as good the last couple of times I went...

my fav spot for brunch is at the ritz in laguna nigel...
yeah yeah, i know gabe...it's not in 'LA' but it is definitely worth the drive down. not only was the ritz laguna nigel rated the best resort in the world one year...their sunday brunch is to literally die for. make reservations for sure...or you will be waiting for a looooong time. dress nice too as it frowns on jeans etc. last time i went...it was $75 a person. not cheap but not a bad price when you see what they have there.

The Sunday Brunch at Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant is decent for the price of around $17. The fried Chicken is what they are famous for. Parking is free for the first 3 hours. Afterwards head to the many fish stores in OC.

I don't think there's anywhere that tops the Reef for sunday brunch.
However, for just your straight up Sunday breakfast, there are plenty of must visit places. The Heritage up on Carson is my favorite. Sandwiches made on thick slices of homemade bread. So thick, you'll have to smash it down just to eat it: http://www.yelp.com/biz/heritage-family-pantry-lakewood The Griddle Cafe up in West Hollywood is pretty spectacular, too. http://www.thegriddlecafe.com/ |

Not for brunch-
But did anyone see this menu at the Reef? Sunset Dinner They are almost paying you to eat there. We had my wife's CSULB grad dinner for 25 there with this menu. Needless to say, the restaurant wasn't very thrilled with us. Actually, thanks for reminding me about this place. I should head over there for a dirt cheap dinner soon.

for casual brunch, marston's in pasadena is great.
ritz in laguna is disgusting. hotel needs a major makeover. the best seafood buffet i've ever been to is at the four seasons aviara in carlsbad, they have it every friday night.
