I think it might be time to go look at Marc's tank! Or go visit a real reef in Hawaii for a bit. Brrrrrr...

And Speaking of the LFS, I tested the TDS of the water they sell for $1.99/gal at 52ppm. They seemed to think that was pretty good.

Just for fun, scoop up a ball of clean white snow near the store, put it in a clean bucket, and let it thaw. Test the TDS. If it is lower than their RO system, you might set up a booth next to the store and sell melted snow for $1 a gallon.

$2! As far as I know, most stores here charge $.40 for RO and $.80 for saltwater. I don't price it as I never buy it at a LFS, but I think that's right.

Fly on down. How many tanks of gas would that take? Seems like those planes don't move very fast. Does peddling with your feet help? At least it would keep you warm!

Hmmm...that might be an interesting experiment with the snow.

Yeah, I can't believe I've been spending $50/month on water for the past year, and it wasn't even very good water. Local drinking water supplier only charges $0.33/gal for RO if you bring your own jugs. I'll have to test their water as well.

Well, unfortunately the plane is kinda stuck at the moment. The air strip I'm on doesn't plow the runway and I don't have skis for it. I'd probably use about 150 gal of fuel getting down there, at $5/gal for avegas. If I had the vacation time available I'd be burning some airline miles right about now. but then...we know what happens to tanks when we go on vacation.

I was reminded to day that there's a 280 gal for sale here in town. Wouldn't that look great in your new house? You could do a corner in wall build. We all know it only takes 2 weeks after all.
Just come pick it up!

Thanks Eric. As long as I don't do anything stupid, it should continue to fill in and not create new glaring voids yet again. That drives me nuts.

No kidding. What the heck did she come up here in December for! That's when most of us try to leave the state.

Marc? So how many more KWh's are you using on the 280g over the 55g? I'm assuming the 55 setup isn't running anymore?

The only tanks I have running are the 280g and the angled tank. Plus my quarantine system.

I really don't want to figure out the KWH. I already get a bill once a month reminding me that I have a big tank.

I just got a $600 electric bill, up from $400 last year, and my usage is only slightly higher...rates are climbing here too.
