whats the dims of your tank and what do you plan on keeping? My 150 is 60x24x24 and im going with the 250w lumenarc stealth mini's bu mine will be a mixed reef.

I would go with MH lighting in a tank that deep but if you don't wanna fork over the money for MH you can get away with T5's. I'd stay away from compact flourescents. They produce a lot of heat and don't last as long as T5's which run much cooler.

Our 125 is 6' long, 18" deep and 24" high. We use 3-250 watt MH's and 4x96 watt actinics. Sure in the summer it gets a little warm but we use a small fan that's mounted on the back of the tank to help keep it cooler. It really works great. I would go with MH's for your tank.
