You know, you don't have to say your tank is ugly to get attention here...Its obvious that you know its not...

If I thought my tank was ugly I guess I wouldn't be uploaded lots of pics of it to show the whole world. It just seems a little ironic to me.

Frankly, the photos are not pretty....I am a lousy photographer and still cannot figure out how to take tank picture without flash reflection, wrong focus, colour distortion, over/under exposure......
Ugly might be a bit exaggerated, but compare to other spectacular tanks here I am afraid mine is only "marginal". Neo |

If that tank is ugly, I might as well give up now. Sure, it's not a TOTM, but it looks good to me.

Well that's the prettiest kind of ugly I've ever seen. Really nice large colonies, and your fish look great, too.

Nice "ugly" tank. How long have you had your Achilles Tang?

For flash reflection you can do one of two things. Either get the flash off camera at an angle to the tank, or you yourself should stand at an angle so that your reflection is not included.

What kind of camera are you using? Try turning all of the lights off in the house and if your camera has a "night" auto-setting, use that. Forget about the flash, don't even use it. Most point-n-shoot cameras have large apertures and low zoom settings to allow for landscape shots easily as well as low light situations. Also, take pics straight on (keep camera parallel to the tank) to cut down on distortion. If, and it may not have it, there is an ISO setting. Turn the ISO up as high as you can, it may be a little more grainy, but at least you'll get the shot. I think most point-n-shoots have an ISO b/n 50-100, which isn't much, but it's worth checking out. Hope that helps you get a nice pic of your ugly tank!!! J/K If you want, we can trade tanks and then I'll take some nice pics of my new ugly tank!!! HeHe

The first time i saw this tank... I had my beer goggles on, so I came back when I was sober... and it is still beautiful.
